life is short ... triathlons make it seem longer.

I am a graduate student at The University of Texas at Austin. I work for Dr. J. K. Aggarwal at the Computer and Vision Research Center.
I am interested in the broad areas of computer vision and machine learning. I am currently working on non-rigid face tracking and its applications. Previously I had worked on highway traffic surveillance and pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras.
I was raised to be a sports enthusiastic by my parents. I have done a variety of sports ranging from basketball to windsurfing, from snow-skiing to kickboxing. Recently I have been interested in triathlons. Austin is a perfect place for triathlon training. Of course, considering the fact that I am primarily a PhD student, I do sports just for fun.
Last, but not least, I like programming a lot. I usually get a weird look on people's faces when I say this, but it is the truth. It just feels "right" and "intuitive"! I do not think that I can explain it more.
This site is created to serve as: a homepage, a blog and a personal training & research ("maybe" & "hopefully") log. In other words, it is the result of a need to record and share "stuff". The back-end is designed in a way to make this process as convenient as possible.
